Blow the Whistle on Wildlife Trade

Seen a TCM shop selling bear bile? Know of someone keeping a prohibited wild animal as a pet? Seen tiger tooth jewellery on sale? Know of a pet shop selling wild animals illegally?

You can help end the illegal wildlife trade in Singapore by reporting any cases of illegal trading or ownership of prohibited wild animals or their parts to the 24 - hour ACRES Wildlife Crime Hotline 97837782.

Here are some of the wildlife products that are illegal to sell or advertise for sale in Singapore:

• Any bear parts, e.g. bear bile pills and powder and bear gall bladders, usually in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) shops.
• Any tiger parts, e.g. tiger bones, tiger bone wine and tiger penis, usually in TCM shops; tiger claws and teeth (often made into jewellery); tiger skins.
• Any pangolin parts, e.g. meat, scales.
• Any rhinoceros horn products, usually in TCM shops.

The following wild animals are all illegal to be sold as pet, advertised for sale as pets or kept as pets in Singapore:

• All reptiles, except for the red-eared slider terrapin and the Malayan box turtle (examples: All snakes, all lizards such as green iguanas and geckos, star tortoises, pig-nosed turtles, Chinese soft shelled turtles etc.)
• All primates (such as macaques, lorises, gibbons, capuchins).
• Wild cats (e.g. leopard cats, Bengal cats).
• All other small mammals (examples squirrels, sugar gliders, hedgehogs).
