PROJECT SUSTAINABILITY

The AWRC will be sustained by its programmes, donations, grants and merchandise sales.

Estimated monthly income after one year of operation

Programmes
Animal Adoptions ($50 per animal per year)
Members of the public will be given the opportunity to adopt an animal at the AWRC. This will involve an annual donation to pay for the upkeep of the animal. Adopters will be provided with a certificate, photos of the animal adopted and a written account of the animal’s story and how he or she came to be at the AWRC.

Guided tours for the public ($5 per person)
All visitors on the guided tours will be requested to make a minimum contribution of $5 per person.

Education Programme ($5 per person, max 100 persons for day visits; $20 per person, max 50 persons for overnight visits)

Acres will be charging schools for the day and overnight visits to the AWRC for students.

‘Animal Caregiver for a Day’ programme & ‘Vet for a Day’ programme ($50 per person; maximum 5 participants per day)
Participants will be charged a fee.

Volunteer Programme (Local $10 per night; International $250 per week)
Local volunteers will not be charged to volunteer. However, those who choose to stay overnight will pay a nominal fee for lodging and food. International volunteers will be charged on a weekly basis to volunteer at the AWRC.

Grants
Acres will be approaching local and international organisations for grants to partially cover the operational costs.

Donations
Donations in kind
Acres will be seeking donations of equipment and food for the animals at the AWRC. Local supermarkets will be approached to supply food that is no longer fit to be sold but is still suitable for consumption by the animals. Acres will also be approaching local companies to provide equipment for the AWRC.

Donations at the AWRC
A donation box will be placed at the AWRC reception area.

Donation tins
Acres currently has more than 50 donation tins at various locations in Singapore. We plan to double this number by the end of the year. Currently, Acres receives approximately $500 each month from these tins.

Monthly donations
Acres will be seeking regular donations on a monthly basis from members of the public. We currently receive approximately $1,700 per month from monthly donations.

Sales
Shop
Acres will be setting up a shop at the AWRC for the sale of our merchandise. This includes T-shirts, badges and stuffed animal toys.

Vending machine
Acres will be placing a vending machine at the AWRC to generate some extra income.

Help us make a difference in the lives of the animals.
