STB was one of the main sponsors for the regional Asia for Animals conference that ACRES hosted in January 2009. The conference provided an excellent platform for representatives from countries all over the world, particularly in Asia, to share lessons learned and experiences and build on ideas to progress the animal welfare movement.

The Tan Ean Kiam Foundation was set up in 1956 to relieve human suffering, aid the poor, provide assistance during times of natural calamities, foster education and support religious institutions. They provided a grant to ACRES for the Syinconnect conference for young people who want to create social change.
