Tarantulas abandoned
Seven adult-sized tarantulas were found abandoned along Bartley Road in Serangoon on Sunday. The species, which are potentially venomous, were discovered in small containers in two plastic bags.
The Animal Concerns Research and Education Society said that some of the tarantulas were as long as 11cm.
They were the biggest captured so far. This species of spiders is protected under an international convention.
Just two weeks ago, six tarantulas were confiscated by the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority from an HDB flat.
