NEWS ACRES IN THE NEWS Save the tiger effort a credit to lion city I was pleased to read about the efforts of the Animal Concerns Research and Education Society ("Acres ups the reward", Nov 12) to rescue a tiger and Malayan sun bear in illegal captivity. We should be grateful for the work of groups such as Acres, which can only help make Singapore a better society. This reflects well on the Government's efforts to encourage active and participatory citizenship. I urge people to show their support. Saving a tiger may be a small step towards reaching Acres' goals, but it is a giant leap towards achieving Singapore's aim of becoming a more gracious society. ......................................................................................................................................................... |
