As a part of dynamic team of animal welfare advocates, you will play an important role in recruiting members of the public to become active in creating a better, more compassionate and socially responsible society.

Community Outreach Officer

Responsibilities

  • Learn about volunteer management and implement strategic improvements to our existing volunteer management plans.
  • Manage and work with individual volunteers and groups of volunteers from all walks of life.
  • Plan, organise and facilitate logistic arrangements for volunteer activities.
  • Co-ordinate between volunteers, staff and external parties and oversee the running of volunteer programmes.
  • Maintain records and prepare materials related to volunteer programmes.
  • Perform administration duties.
  • Submit a monthly report to the committee and management on volunteer programmes.
  • Continually assess and develop volunteer projects and constantly seek new and interesting activities for volunteers.
  • Organise events that involve the community in the animal protection movement.
  • Man ACRES roadshows at schools and public events, speaking to members of the public about volunteer opportunities and animal protection issues.

Requirements

  • Class 3 driving license.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel 2007).
  • Energetic and outgoing,
  • Good interpersonal skills with people of all age groups and all walks of life.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Meticulous team player with strong organisational skills.
  • Able to commit full- time for a minimum of two years.
  • Bilingual in English and another language.
  • Previous experience in successfully managing volunteer projects with other non-profit organisations would be an advantage.

Working location: ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre, 91 Jalan Lekar (Choa Chu Kang is the nearest MRT)
Working days: 5 days a week, 9:30am to 5pm (including some weekend duties)
Salary: SGD1,400
