ACRES of Awareness @ Bukit Batok Community Club, 26th July

Organised by participants from the Event Management Action Programme (EMAP), the ACRES roadshow will raise awareness on the illegal pet trade that is exceedingly cruel and wasteful. The roadshow will provide information on how Singaporeans can play an active role in the animal protection movement. Volunteers are needed for 19th (Sat), 25th (Fri) and 26th July. TOPIC FOR THE DAY: "How to be an advocate for animals"
Join us in the online game called Habbo Hotel to raise awareness on animal protection in Singapore. This online forum takes place on the Habbo Hotel Infobus.

Singapore Polytechnic, 30th July

A group of Diploma in Media and Communication (DMC) students which has dubbed themselves Aces & Spades has partnered with ACRES to organise a roadshow. Aces & Spades will be making a wall of support where anyone can put their palm prints to show and pledge their support to stop animal abuse. Take part in the fun and games while learning about animal welfare issues. Funds will also be raised from merchandise sale such badges, T-shirts, mugs, decals and lots more! Do come down and lend your support to this noble cause!

Republic Polytechnic, 31st July
Venue: W2, The Agora map
Time: Thursday, 10am to 2pm

Students are welcomed to ACRES' booth to learn the many ways in which our everyday lives and activities have an impact on the welfare of animals and how they can help by living a cruelty-free lifestyle. This roadshow aims to create awareness on the detrimental effects of the exotic pet trade. As well as informative exhibition panels, the roadshow features displays of toy animals stuffed in pipes and socks and crammed into a crate and suitcase, representing real-life methods of smuggling animals for the illegal pet trade. A toy tiger in a small cage with no room to move represents the fate of wild animals who end up as 'pets'.

Art in Wonderland @ UE Square, 2nd August
Venue: Blk 81 Clemenceau Avenue map
Time: Saturday, 10am to 5pm
ACRES will be having a booth to raise awareness on the illegal wildlife trade in Singapore and other animal protection issues. Find out more about the the global “Animals Matter to Me” campaign. in support of a Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare to be endorsed by governments of the world. There will also be exhibits on different animal welfare issues through informative educational panels and physical displays/replica models depicting the issues, for example toy animals crammed into crates showing how animals are smuggled for the illegal pet trade. Mayflower Secodnary Humanities Week, 4th August

Time: Whole day
ACRES will be having a talk to raise awareness on the illegal wildlife trade in Singapore. The general talk on animal welfare by ACRES introduces the question “Do animals have rights?” and both students and teachers will be informed about bear farming and other animal protection issues and how they can do their bit to help be the voice for these animals.
